Being someone who doesn’t have kids of their own, I can’t help but feel that Christmas is a kid’s holiday. I can’t stand that, personally. There are plenty of people out there who don’t want kids and who want to celebrate in a more adult fashion. The kids of America already get chocolate at Easter, presents on their birthday, and candy at Halloween. Is it so bad if we adults want to party a little, wear some cool Christmas t-shirts, and enjoy a few alcoholic drinks during the holiday season?

While we’re on the topic of cool Christmas t-shirts, have a listen to the craziness that I successfully pulled off during last year’s Dirty Santa party that my friend Carla threw. It was an evening of excess right off the start. We had drinks, we had laughs, and I think someone took off their underpants. I did wear a shirt that said “Lap Elf Looking For A Lap” that people liked a lot…and would like a whole lot more once they saw my Dirty Santa present.

The thing about Dirty Santa parties that makes them so fun is that they’re almost exclusively for grown ups with a hint of a naughty side. Everyone gets a number from a hat, and then picks presents out of a big pile. People who come next can either grab an unopened present from the gift table, or trade an unopened gift with someone else. This is where my cool Christmas t-shirts plan came into effect.

Considering the slight dirtiness of my shirt I was wearing, I was going to amp up the dirty-factor by 100% when the first person picked my gift from the table. When my good friend Anne picked my gift, she opened it to find a shirt that matched mine except for the words, which said, “I’ve Got A Lap For You.” I walked over to the dead silence of the whole room, kissed her passionately, and sat down daintily in her lap as I told everyone that I now belonged to her for the night. I could sense the intensity build in the air as we sat there in our matching cool Christmas t-shirts.

The party was fun before, but it got insane after everyone found out that I had brought myself as the present for our Dirty Santa game. Everyone was trading me back and forth to the point where some of the poor folks who won me barely had a chance for me to nestle down into their laps before I was taken away again. When all of the trading was over, I was in the sole possession of a young kid who I had never met before. I was a little older, but you know what? I’m still dating him to this day. Sometimes a good thing can come from being a trollop with a good taste in cool Christmas t-shirts.
