The Importance of the Tibetan Om Sound

Tibetan Om or Aum is of great importance in Hinduism. This is a sacred syllable representing Brahman, the impersonal Absolute C omnipotent, omnipresent and the source of all existence. In essence, Brahman is incomprehensible and therefore a symbol to help us realize the Unknowable. The Tibetan Om is used to represent both aspects of God, the manifest and the un-manifest.
This symbol is often at the top of the letter or the beginning of an examination paper. The symbol is used by many Hindus in the form of Om pendant, the perfect expression of the intellectual. Found in all sacred Hindu temple and family anchored to this icon, one way or another. Also, many family members choose to wear an Om pendant or quan yin pendant that can offer them protection and peace of mind.
The importance of this point is so great for the Hindus, every child brought into this world with him. After the birth of the child, clean, and this sacred syllable is written on the tongue with honey. Thus, the syllable OM in the life of a Hindu moves and stays with him as a symbol of piety.
