Do you look forward to Christmas? Many of us do, but it’s actually quite a divisive time of the year. It’s absolutely brilliant so long as you actually like meeting up with friends and family that you haven’t seen all that much of.

But it’s not like everybody enjoys the Christmas period every year. Sometimes the family can be a bit much, and even when most of us are having a nice time, there’s always somebody who carries the burden of making sure the event goes off well. We may all be living in ‘It’s a wonderful life’, but somebody still gets to be ‘The Grinch who stole Christmas’.

This year, you might be thinking of getting away. In the temperate latitudes of the northern hemisphere, this makes a general kind of sense anyway. Christmas time is really rather cold (you may happen to know this for yourself). So why not get away somewhere warm?

A Holiday in Lapland will be an unforgettable vacation for all. Lapland is found inside the Arctic Circle in the countries of Norway, Finland and Sweden. There is a devotion to Christmas in Lapland with many Christmas attractions. Children of all ages will delight in the wintry splendor and laugh at Santa’s workshop.

You can take a look at Santa’s post office, have a sleigh ride pulled by a reindeer, meet Santa in person, pet Rudolph and see Santa’s elves at work. Besides the Christmas themes there are other winter sports, and fantastic scenery to behold in Lapland.

The best time for skiing is between February and April and there are trails and mountains available for skiers of any level. You can go down hill skiing, alpine skiing and cross country skiing. Additionally there are enough resorts that you can find a calm, mountain without crowds. Lapland is also known for its dog-sleigh and snowmobile safaris.
